Maybe Monday (Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream)

Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

So the best thing about being a BzzAgent is getting the opportunity to try new products and let others know what we think.  If you aren't familiar with BzzAgent you can head over here to learn more and sign up if you are interested.

Mommy in PA is currently doing a BzzCampaign for Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream and here is her thoughts:

Mommy in PA says:  When I received the invite for this BzzCampaign I was super excited because I normally experience very dry, cracked hands in the winter because we typically burn coal and it dries out the air in our house considerably and I also think I may have a sort of allergic reaction to the coal itself because this year my hands haven't been nearly as dry and haven't cracked at all (we are using wood).  Either way I was excited to try the product because it was pretty much created by some Norwegian fishermen who were experiencing a lot of dryness, chapping, and cracking of their skin from the harsh Norwegian weather.  This very much interested me because surely if it worked for them, it could work for me too.

When I received my BzzKit in the mail I eagerly took out the full-size product that they sent and opened it right away.  First thing I noticed was that the product has hardly any scent at all.  I guess this is a good thing because the less added perfumes, etc. the easier on the skin.  I applied a small amount to my hands and rubbed it in.  I noticed right away that this is a lot thicker than most lotions I am used to using.  I did not like how the lotion left a greasy buildup on my skin.  I dealt with it for awhile though but when I tried to wash it off a little while later it just kept feeling greasy.  This is a good thing though because it proves that the lotion really does hold in moisture well.

I don't think this is something I will wear around during the day but am considering using it at night (possibly with gloves) and Mommy in GA had a great idea about using it on my dry feet at night with a pair of socks over it to help hold in the moisture too.  I will be trying both of these ideas.

Another idea that BzzAgent mentions is using it on your nails after a manicure to keep the great look longer or it can also be used in place of lip balm.

Probably the most impressive thing about the product is that they say a 2 oz. bottle (priced at around $4.99) would last a person 200 uses.  That is a very good deal for skin care.

Disclaimer:  I received the above item for free from BzzAgent.  All opinions remain my own.

We resolve to eat healthier...Part 2....(Giveaway Alert!)

EatSmart Precision Pro Scale

precision-pro-red

So everyone seems to be trying to eat healthier these days including mommy in GA and mommy in PA.  We spend so much time thinking about what we are eating that we tend to overlook the easiest change that we could be making...portion control.

Thanks to EatSmart mommy in GA and mommy in PA got a chance to try out the EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale.  And here is what we thought...

Mommy in GA says: So I would like to start by saying, the colors you can choose from for your EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale is really cool.  You don't have to settle, you can choose one to match your kitchen appliances.

I have not fully used mine to its' potential yet, but, fully intend to when I start my diet next week.  This is a plan I have been thinking about setting in motion for awhile now but it is time to take action, weight my food portions (thank you EatSmart) and fit exercise into my daily routine.

I look forward to using my instruction booklet (as it helps you count calories etc...)  I am hoping weighing the portions with my EatSmart Pro helps me quickly and efficiently shed some of these unwanted pounds..... Look forward to keeping yall updated on my progress and how awesome my EatSmart Pro is!!!!!!

Mommy in PA says:  I currently had a smaller kitchen scale that I was using to measure food portions for my diabetic son.  The problem with the scale I was using is that it was so small that it was hard to place something on the top and still be able to read the numbers on the digital display.  That got to be very annoying!

The first thing I noticed with the Precision Pro Scale was how much bigger the scale surface was and how the display is easy to read.  I also like it because it is really easy to clean.  It is also very easy to switch between the four units of measure (grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds).  We usually use ounces for measuring the food portions for my son but the pounds option comes in really handy when figuring out weight for a small package or packaging our venison from this past hunting season.

Most of my smaller items like this usually end up shoved in a drawer until needed, but the Precision Pro Scale now has its very own spot on my kitchen counter.  It has a very sleek looking design and it goes with a lot of the items in my kitchen (I received the black one).

Another great thing is the fact that the book that comes with the scale has a calorie counting section which really comes in handy for the whole weight loss plan.

I am very pleased with the Precision Pro Scale and know that this is and always will be one of my favorite gadgets in my kitchen!

We resolve to promote our blog more...(Giveaway Alert!)

If you are looking for a great way to make a lasting impression and are tired of the same old photo cards for every holiday photo, then you may want to check out CrinkledNose.com for your photo card needs.  They specialize in making magnets out of what would normally just be another photo card.  Take a look at the examples of some of CrinkledNose.com products below to see what we mean.

Mommy in GA and Mommy in PA each received some photo magnets of our blog header with our web address and email to really help us spread the word.

Mommy in GA says: This is a great promotional tool weather you are promoting a business, baby or party it is an all around easy to personalize product!!!

I received mine and put them on the fridge until I was ready to hand them out and random friends and family ended up walking out the door with them and telling me how cute they were.

Mommy in PA says:  I was very impressed with the ease of setting up our photo card design on the site.  And even more impressed when I received an email from them when they noticed that our image would have turned out blurry with the settings I had used.  Instead of telling me that I had to go back in and change it myself, they did it for us and then sent us an example of what it would look like for approval.  They have the best customer service!

The magnets we received were great.  They are perfect for handing out to folks so that they remember our blog and can easily be stuck on any magnetic surface.  They also sent us a sample note pad and envelopes (to mail our magnets in).  These items were also of excellent quality.

Thanks to CrinkledNose.com we are giving away 25 magnetic photo cards to one of our readers.  Just enter via the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win.  Also they are currently offering our readers 25% off their orders when using code msm25.

We resolve to eat healthier...

"Crazy Sexy Kitchen"
by Kris Carr with Chef Chad Sarno

So it's seems like everyone is trying to eat healthier these days but with so many different diets/choices out there it's just really overwhelming.  Mommy in PA recently got a chance to read "Crazy Sexy Kitchen" by Kris Carr with Chef Chad Sarno and here is what she thought:

Mommy in PA:  This is not the type of recipe book you just open and start rummaging through your cabinets.  This is more than just a book, it is more like a lifestyle change.  I wasn't really sure what I was getting into when I requested this for review but I am really excited about trying out some of the recipes but will need to try to get everyone else in my household on board so that I'm not blowing the grocery budget on food items that only I will eat.

I love, love, love how this book is organized.  It not only has your typical recipe book chapters such as soups and stews, sandwiches and wraps, main events, and sexy sides but also has chapters such as crazy sexy staples, the dirty dozen, and the clean fifteen.

There is a lot of really good reading at the beginning of the book about all the health benefits of eating a more veggie based meal plan.  I also love the chapter called "My Inspiration".  It is all about how Kris's grandmother and mother were the ones who inspired her and her love for making special dishes.  Her grandmother had started her own bistro with a renovated trolley car and her own craftsmanship.

The recipes in the book range from super easy so even the novice can do them to the more complex.  With 150 recipes there is surely something for everyone.  So if you are at all interested in trying to eat healthier this year then this may be the book for you.

Disclaimer:  I received the above book for free from Hayhouse, Inc.  but all opinions are my own.

We resolve to laugh a little louder... (Giveaway Alert)!

Are you having a hard time finding the perfect gift for that person who seems to have everything?  Well look no more...Humerus is here to save the day!

Humerus The Funny Bone is made by the Drew Oliver Company and comes in a cute gift box that looks like a stage. Everytime you clap he tells you a joke.  To hear a sample joke you can head over here.  Humerus isn't small either he measures 11 3/4" x 2".

Mommy in GA and Mommy in PA each received their very own Humerus the Funny Bone and here is what we thought:

Mommy in GA says: We saved our Humerus the Funny bone for Christmas morning but, while he waited in our closet if you closed the doors too loudly you were rewarded with a joke!!  He talked like crazy in the closet and also under the tree....... I handed him to my 3 year old to open and he started talking and my 3 year old exclaimed "What's that??!!"  He opened it and laughed as Humerus told his jokes....all of the kids' really enjoyed this gift.

The downside is a few hours after opening Humerous, he became very dull.....He would not tell anymore jokes as he quit working AND I have no idea where to change the batteries??!!!

Mommy in PA says:  I was surprised to see that Humerus is made of a very heavy duty plastic and weighs quite a bit.  This is definitely something you could let smaller kids play with and know it won't get broken (you just have to make sure they don't break other things with it).  The box is not as durable so if you are planning on keeping it you will need to keep it up out of little kids reach.

We all got a kick out of Humerus for the first thirty minutes or so but then the jokes started getting boring as we had heard all of them already.  We sat him up when we were done and went on with our regular activities...but Humerus just wouldn't stop!  If anyone spoke too loudly, he'd tell a joke.  If anyone dropped something, he'd tell a joke.  If the dog barked, he'd tell a joke.  If you stepped just a smidge too loudly, he'd tell a joke.  Now Humerus was still in his box at this point so we just moved him to another room and crossed our fingers that he wouldn't hear us watching the football game.  No such luck!  We opened the box thinking for sure that there would be an on/off switch...nope.  One thing I did notice though is that once out of the packaging he is a lot less sensitive to other sounds and has been sitting in our dining room quietly for most of the past week.  So if you are planning on displaying Humerus somewhere where you don't want him just randomly telling jokes just remove him from his box.

I think this would be a great gift for any doctor, school nurse, or anyone who likes jokes.

You can find out more about Humerus by going to the site, his Facebook page, or Twitter.

It's a New Year so we've made our resolutions...
