Spa Time Saturday - Black Rock Mud mudpot

MudPot

disclaimer:  I received the product below for free in exchange for my honest opinion.  My opinions are not influenced by receiving the product for free.

Mommy in PA recently got a chance to try a product from Black Rock Mud Company called MudPot.  MudPot is an all natural mud straight from the Earth with nothing added to be used for purifying the skin.  It is harvested from the Black Rock Desert and is actually an illite clay rich in minerals and is 100% natural.

Mommy in PA says:  I was really excited to get the chance to try this product.  And must say that I wasn't disappointed at all from the time I opened the package.  The first thing I noticed before even opening the box was that the packaging is actually a plantable box that has wildflower seeds embedded in the paper so when you are done with it you just simply put it in the soil, water, and wait for your flowers to grow.  Oh, and the container that the mud is in is actually recyclable too!

The MudPot I received was from the Spring 2013 harvest which means it is one of a set number that was harvested this year.  There is only so much of the mud to be harvested every year and some years are better than others.  This makes you feel really special to be one of the ones who gets to use it.

I was really surprised by the look and feel of the mud.  It is a greenish tone (like military camo green), the consistency is just right (not too runny but not too thick either) which makes for easy and smooth application.  I also like the fact that it doesn't really have a smell to it (maybe just a slight earthly scent if you sniff hard enough).

All you do is apply it and leave on your skin for 5-20 minutes, spritz occasionally when you feel it drying out, and wipe off when you are done.

I was really impressed at how it absorbed all the nasty oils from my face (I even noticed my face seemed to stay oil-free for a couple of days after).  My face actually seemed almost sparkly after wiping off the mask (may be some of the trace minerals) and it is definitely smoother!  Also it doesn't take very much product to cover your face so I see this MudPot lasting for quite awhile.

I am very happy with the MudPot and hope that all of you who have been looking for an all natural skin care product will go check out their site here
