"On Edge:  A Journey Through Anxiety"

  By Andrea Petersen

"On Edge:  A Journey Through Anxiety" is Andrea Petersen's first hand experiences with panic attacks and anxiety disorder.  From her first panic attack in college until the current day follow Andrea's path through the terrible symptoms she experiences and her learning about what possibly makes her that way.

Can you imagine what it would be like to be terrified of using a brand new tube of toothpaste?  Well Andrea does, along with a lot of other things that to us would seem normal.  Find out what types of therapies and medications she has tried along the way and how they affected her.  Also find out what family history can effect.

Will she ever have a happy relationship?  Will she ever be able to have a child?  Andrea will answer all of these questions in the book.

Mommy in PA:  Ok, so most of us have experienced a bit of anxiety, depression, paranoia, etc. you get the picture.  And I've also heard that a little bit of anxiety is good for you.  Well sometimes I feel like I have a little too much, my husband has been known to say "You worry too much" quite frequently lol : )  So needless to say I picked this book due to being a bit curious.

Wow!  She packs a lot of info in here...a lot more than I really needed but would be helpful for others I am sure.  I about put the book down around the middle because there was just so much about the clinical tests and all the results and her meeting with all of these professionals and learning about the advances in testing and treating.  But needless to say I was happy once she got back to talking about her own experiences again.

I found her story very sad at times, but also very hopeful and happy at others.  She proves that you can have anxiety and still have good times in your life : )  This was an excellent read for folks who want to familiarize themselves with how the brain reacts during a panic attack or just general anxiety, she goes over a lot of the research.
