  So we've all seen the classics, but now you can celebrate your Christmas season with Shrek, Skipper, Po, Toothless and all of their friends in the "DreamWorks Holiday Collection".  This two-disk limited edition collection features holiday inspired shows like "Shrek the Halls", "Merry Madagascar", "Dragons Holiday:  Gift of the Night Fury", and " Kung Fu Panda Holiday". 

  We also received "The Original Christmas Classics" featuring almost 300 minutes of classic holiday films like "The Little Drummer Boy", "Frosty the Snowman", "Frosty Returns", "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", and many more.

  Mommy in GA:  This was a really exciting review at my house! We all LOVE movies and we REALLY LOVE Christmas movies!  We record and watch all of the Holiday movies and watch them as a family BUT, getting these movies meant no more searching the guide to record AND we can watch them anytime of year not just around the holidays and no more taking up precious dvr space!!!!!

We enjoyed both sets equally which is awesome because the kids' talked about the collection for days after and now that it is that time of year again they are ready to get them out and watch them over and over again..... which is fine with me because a person can only watch so much Spongebob and Paw Patrol lol!

  Mommy in PA:  This is one of my favorite things we've gotten to review so far.  I love, love, love Christmas movies.  I typically start watching my Christmas movies in October because I just can't wait for Christmas time to come. 

  I'm happy to know that the newer kids show are doing their own holiday collections too.  Our parents had the classics like Frosty, Rudolph, etc.  We had Garfield, Peanuts, etc. And now our kiddos can have Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and Dragons......LOL!

  My kids were a little less thrilled than I was with the classics but they really liked the DreamWorks Holiday Collection.  I think this would make a wonderful Christmas gift for any family with kids.  No more waiting for those favorite holiday specials!!!

  Mommy in PA:  This is a really neat product.  I love the fact that it uses the button holes to adjust it, very cool feature, no extra pieces to keep track of : ) 

 

It is also a great alternative to diet pills...some of those are quite scary.  And you don't have to keep buying the Malory Band...one and you're done : )

  Mommy in GA: These showed up on the door step and the girls were really excited lol. We stuck them in the freezer and the little ones had a blast!!!

Luckily I have not hit that point in my life yet, But I do work in a cafeteria at our local High School and all the ladies in there were talking about hot flashes so, of course I took my Hot Pearls in the next day!!!!

Several of the ladies took turns and tried them out and gave me feedback :)  One lady told me they were the best thing ever and she loved them!

A second lady made the same comments and let me know that they work for about 4 hours before you have to refreeze .

  Mommy in PA:  I just couldn't believe my kids enthusiasm when these pearls showed up.  They had them on before I had a chance.  My son actually sneaked down and stole them out of the freezer the one night because he got too warm LOL! 

 

  Our first big test was the flea market.  Summer temps here in PA were in the 90's when I took the Hot Girls Pearls with us to the flea market.  My niece experiences hot flashes so I figured that this would be the ultimate test...hot weather and hot flashes, this calls for something drastic : )  Well I relocated the pearls (in my daughter's room this time), placed them and the insulated bag into the freezer, and went to bed.  When I got up in the morning I grabbed them out of the freezer, put them into the insulated bag and chucked them in my purse for use later (mornings are usually bearable).  Well we didn't end up pulling the pearls out until about 11AM (I took them out of the freezer around 7AM)...they were still nice and cold!  I handed them to my niece and she put them on...she liked them so much that I'm surprised they actually made it back home with me LOL! 

 

  Second big test was about the end of August (hay making season here in PA).  We have two horses which means we either have to make our own hay or spend a ton of money buying it from someone else.  Well we opted for the former (hubby's brother cut it and baled it, we loaded it out of the field and took it home to load it in the barn).  Hubby is better at throwing off the truck and trailer so my daughter and I headed into the barn to stack it.  Imagine being in your attic in the middle of summer with no air circulating...that's what it felt like in the top of the barn where I was stacking the hay.  It was so hot in there that my face was bright red and I was beginning to get a headache.  I sent my son to the house to get the Hot Girls Pearls.  They were just what I needed.  I felt instantly cool and refreshed.  I love these pearls!

  Along this comical journey you will even get to learn some magic, how to make a grog, hear what some of Neil's friends think of him, and even do a crossword puzzle.  This is no ordinary book.  It even includes a chapter that is annotated by David. 

 

  Even the biggest fans of N.P.H. are bound to find some surprising twists and turns in this book. 

 

  So will you give Neil a happy ending with the man of his dreams or will you end your career on stage at the Oscars...the choice is yours. 

 

  Mommy in PA:  As some of you may already know from a previous book post, I love a good choose-your-own story book.  That is the main reason I selected this as one I wanted to review, that and the fact that I really admire Neil Patrick Harris.

 

  I really love the concept behind the book but did find it a little hard to navigate.  There are even some pages I didn't get to read yet because evidently I haven't explored all the possible paths.  I guess that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how badly you want to move on to read something else.  I personally will take it as a good thing knowing that I still have something to come back to later that I haven't already read in its entirety. 

 

  This book is not something you would want to share with your kiddos either, there are a few sections that I found so far that are a bit racy (so much for reading out loud...LOL). 

 

  I do like the story but some of it seems to jump around a bit too much for me.  Some paths you take seem to skip right over "Doogie Howser" but still mention that you did it later on.  I guess I figured there would be more order to the chaos. 

 

  I do recommend that everybody takes the magic path at least once.  He literally teaches you some tricks : )  There is also a very clever marketing technique on the back of the book that is also a magic trick.  I consider this more than a book...it's more like the N.P.H. "experience". 

 

  All in all a great read.  Definitely entertaining!

  Mommy in PA:  We are a household of hunters and outdoorsy folk so we have definitely had our fair share of headlamps.  Some we purchased ourselves, some gifts, some cheap, some expensive...we've tried a bunch.  Needless to say the Intellinotion Power Headlamp 150 was certainly the brightest we've ever tried (talk about lighting up the yard), and the distance is very impressive too. 

 

  This has come in very handy for our household already.  After only having it for two weeks everyone in my household has found multiple uses for it.  Splitting wood after dark, a walk to the barn in the middle of the night to check on the horses, my daughter thinking she had a wisdom tooth coming in, turning off the water in the dark corner of the basement to unhook the garden hose to get ready for winter, going in and out of the woods in archery season, looking under the porch for a missing kitten, truck repairs, etc.  We all agree that this is a wonderful headlamp : )

 

  My favorite features are the extra strap over the top that keeps the headlamp from sliding down over your face.  The strap make it stay in place perfectly.  I also like the zoom feature, we've never had one with a zoom before.

 

  The only things that we didn't really care for or thought could be improved were the fact that when you have the headlamp on high the only way to get to off is to cycle through the other settings which means you have to go through low and flash first.  Flash can get a little annoying...LOL!  Also my husband said that he would like it more if it had a red lens that you could slide in somewhere when hunting in case you have to track a deer in the dark.  Other than that though we are very happy with this headlamp and we are sure that we will be fighting over who gets to use it until we purchase a few more : )

  Technology though very helpful is sometimes not the most pretty thing in the world.  Chargers are one of those things.  But fret no more, the folks at Chic Buds have got your covered.  They believe that it is possible to combine functionality with style in their line of ladies chic tech accessories.

  The Clutchette Power is basically a phone charger built into a stylish clutch.  The clutch contains a USB cord for charging your phone or other USB device.  The clutch also has its own charging cord built in so that you can charge up the enclosed battery pack using any USB charging port like the ones on your computer. 

  Mommy in GA and mommy in PA each received a Clutchette for use in our review and here are our thoughts:

  Mommy in GA:  I was excited that it came when it did!!  I got it the week before I went to a wedding!!! I NEVER remember to charge my phone or I use it so much that it never has a charge :(

I got the clutchette and was able to charge it before we left so I used it after we arrived to charge it and then I recharged the clutchette so that I could recharged my phone for more pics!!

I was able to fit my phone, debit card, cigarettes and lighter in it!! It was a tight squeeze but it all fit and the bag looked pretty chic with my dress too :)

  Mommy in PA:  My daughter practically ripped this out of my hands once she knew what it was.  She doesn't have a cell phone to charge but she does have an MP3 player that she carries with her to school everyday and it dies on her quite frequently.

  We initially tested out the Clutchette Power at a vendor event we were going to.  We knew we were going to be there for about 8 hours so figured this would be a great test.  My daughter took her MP3 player and I took my cell phone.  Both devices did not have a full charge when we left the house.  We did however charge up the Clutchette. 

  Charging the Clutchette is super easy.  You just hook it up to a USB port on your computer or use one of those wall outlet USB chargers and you are good to go in a few minutes.  It also has battery indicator lights to let you know how much charge your clutch has left...how cool! 

  Well at the event we ended up having to charge both devices and it worked great.  My daughter now carries this to school with her for those times when she forgets to charge her MP3 player.  Cute and functional : )

"Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas"

  You probably remember Kirk Cameron from "Growing Pains", well Kirk is all grown up now and producing films of his own.  A lover of all things Christmas, Kirk was saddened by all the attempts to bash Christmas as we know it, and thus the film was born.  Let's help Kirk put the Christ back in Christmas!

  "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas" is set in a typical family home at Christmas time.  His sister-in-law has everything decorated, hot cocoa warming, presents wrapped under the tree, and even a Santa Clause.  But who is the Grinch, sitting off by himself...it's her husband, Christian. 

  When Kirk's character realizes that Christian isn't enjoying the festivities he heads into the other room to have a chat with him, but he's not there.  Kirk finds him sitting in the family car.  So Kirk proceeds to sit with him and listen to why he says that Christmas just isn't right.

  Christian believes that all the decorations, presents, Santa Clause, and even the Christmas tree have absolutely nothing to do with the birth of Jesus.  Kirk listens patiently but then helps Christian by explaining how each one of these things does have to do with the baby Jesus. 

  By the end of the film, Christian is a believer and you get to witness him celebrating the Christmas feeling for the first time. 

  Mommy in PA:  I was so excited when we got chosen for this project.  Just like Kirk, I am a lover of all things Christmas.  But just like Christian, I wondered how all of this other stuff really fits in.  Kirk's stories about the swaddling cloth, the Christmas tree, and Santa Clause really do make a lot of sense. 

  You will be amazed by how Kirk's character explains these things to Christian.  It really makes you think.  I would tell you more but you're just gonna have to go see it for yourself.

  This is a great family film to take your kiddos to.  I'm sure they would get a kick out of the dancing at the end, it was one of my favorite parts.

  As part of the project we were able to ask Kirk a couple of questions and were able to participate in a phone conference with him while he answered them.  Our question was "What is your favorite holiday food?"  Well Kirk likes all holiday foods : )  Me too, Kirk!

Mommy in GA:I am not a huge blush person, I just never have been but, I did use it as an eyeshadow to celebrate the pink out days we celebrate at work :)  It goes on very easy and is also easy to remove (sometimes with blush it is hard to remove!!)

Mommy in PA:  I just think that this is the perfect color palette for a blush/bronzer.  This is my kind of blush, it gives you a nice, natural look.

Mommy in GA: I actually like the bb cream, which is surprising even to me that I m saying it!!  I normally don't like the bb creams because they always leave my skin feeling oily because of the moisturizer but this one is foundation based and I LOVE that!!!!!  The only thing I don't like is that the color is a tad bit too light, but as long as you match your color right you will LOVE it too!!!

Mommy in PA:  I love this stuff!  A little thicker than I expected but once applied and rubbed in you can barely tell you have it on.  I love how it ends up having a powder finish, the other BB/CC creams I have tried all leave my face feeling and looking oily, not with this product.  This is something I would actually wear on a regular basis and I am not a huge fan of foundation type products, I tend to stick to powders.  And the shade they sent me was perfect, that never happens  LOL!

  This is actually 4 books in 1.  The four books are:

  and Poisonous, Smelly, and Amazing Plants

 

  This book is recommended for kids ages 4-8. 

 

  Mommy in PA:  I got this book for my son to read.  He is 9 so I figured it would be easy for him to read but still interesting enough with all of the bonus facts (our book says over 200 instead of 150 though).  I was right.  Amazingly there were facts in the book that he didn't already know too, which was an added bonus. 

 

  I love the fact that this book is stuffed full of beautiful photographs on every page.  A lot of the pictures are close up too so you can really see what the spiders, snakes, jellyfish, etc. look like.  The spider ones were a little too real though...LOL!  The words on the pages are nice and large too so it makes for an easy read.  It's also nice how they add the little facts along the sides, sometimes my son just likes to read those by themselves.

 

  This is a great way to show kids how things in nature that you don't understand are there for a reason.  Great example being spiders : )

 

  I was a little confused as to why they consider this a 4-in-1 book because actually it's just a book with four chapters in my opinion.  I at least expected the pages to be styled differently in each section but they look all the same and basically blend together with just the next title page to differentiate the different "books". 

 

  All in all this was a great learning experience though and would be a great book for kids who love animals or nature in general.
