When Mockingbirds Sing

Written by:Billy Coffey

This is a book based on believing, and I hate to say this but, I had a really hard time getting into this story.......at first!  I don't know if it was the 4 kids' , the chores, the dog, or just plain lack of concentration but, when I first started reading this book, i thought it was going to take forever to finish and I wasn't even sure I would finish BUT, then the book got really good and I caught myself staying up  WAY past my bedtime (while everyone else was asleep and quiet) and would keep saying to myself after this chapter I will go to sleep!

Chapter after chapter the book pulled me in more and it talks about the belief in the "maybe".  This book stars a little girl named Leah, she just turned 9 and moved to a new town.  Leah doesn't really have any friends until she meets "Rainbow Man" who, might I add only she can see.  She meets him at her birthday party and this happens shortly before she meets her one and only friend her age in town. Her father has the outcast Mr. Barney (his wife Mable and he own the run down toy store that everyone went to until Mable had a stroke and they were shunned by the town) build Leah an easel because she loves to paint.  The rainbow man helps Leah paint pictures that help some people and terrify most.  It is almost as though Leah can see the future and this scares the town people who are a god fearing group.

I don't want to say too much more, as I do not want to ruin the story for you but, I would strongly suggest this be a book that y'all pick up and read!!!It is a high emotion roller-coaster and you will not be sorry you picked it up!!!  Let me tell you I told you very basic info in my review because there is a lot that I did not mention because it is just too good to ruin!  You can look up the author by clicking the link above and the same goes for the book!
