Soft Scrub Review for Purex Insiders

Soft Scrub

I was so excited when I received my box via UPS!!!!  I have a pretty large family and LOVE to try new products, but like many other people out there i HATE to spend money on a product when I don't know if it actually works so, Purex Insiders is the perfect place for me!

Anyway moving along to the review of the product!
The Soft Scrub with bleach:  I used this to clean my trash cans' (both the one inside and also the outside one) I used it on the trash cans for 2 reasons.
1. My trashcan inside is white ( I know what was i thinking with so many kids??!!)
2. We have some sensitive noses in the house that get headaches if I use bleach inside.
Anyway I will tell yall that the product worked great!! there was no after smell (except clean of course!)

I used this to clean my bathrooms! Fantastic, My favorite thing about these cleaners is the fact that you can use the bottle upside down (perfect for cleaning the upper side of the inside of the toilet bowl, and the inside top part of the trash can too!!
Left everything looking and smelling great.  I was timid for purchase when I first heard of the product but, it is definitely a product i will purchase for my home in the future!!

disclaimer: I did receive the above products for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

UNREAL Candy Review (Mommy in Ga)

unreal br...

Mommy in Ga says:
I was recently invited to do a campaign for BzzAgent (which for yall that don't know is a really cool site you can do surveys and based on your interests and needs they send you products or coupons to try products!!! Anyone can sign up but, you have to spread the word!!!!) My campaign was for the UNREAL candy(you can go here to see what stores near you carry and will soon carry UNREAL candy)!

I received 5 coupons for buy one and get one free (I think there was a mishap cause we were all supposed to get one free and 4 buy one get one free, BUT that is ok because even with all the product my kids' were looking for more!!!)

Each candy is unique and I personally thought they were better than the leading brands of candy out there!! They tasted great and they don't have nearly as much "junk" in them either.

One of my favorite features in the foods I buy is packaging that stands out (with 4 little ones you try to spend as little time in the stores as possible lol) If it stands out and I can grab it before other stuff grabs the attention of those little hands that want everything well that is good news for me and the store haha. Point being (i get easily sidetracked!!) is that the UNREAL candy has the appealing packaging and it stands out and looks good too!!

Now to the good stuff!

UNREAL 54
candy coated chocolate with peanuts
delicious (me and my 3 year old are the only ones who got to try these, and  I only shared with him because he eats slow!!)

UNREAL 41
candy coated chocolates
These sounded good but, we did not try these because we are nutty kinda people!! But, the chocolate in UNREAL 54 was great so these are more than likely super too!!

UNREAL 8
chocolate, caramel, peanut and nougat
all of these yummy ingredients all rolled into one fantastic candy we LOVED these!!

UNREAL 5
chocolate, Carmel and nougat
Just as great as the UNREAL 8 only minus the peanuts
but, if you like chocolate caramel and nougat this candy is for you!

Unreal 77
Peanut butter cups
can you say mmmmmm???!!!
I am kind of a candy junkie and I just can not seem to find anything bad about these Unjunked UNREAL candies!!

Best part of everything that I have written above is that all of those candies I just described are UNJUNKED and it is UNREAL when you taste it!!  These candies were created by not adding extras (that other companies add for money purposes NOT flavor purposes) The extras NOT being added are:
corn syrup
partially hydrogenated oil
artificial ingredients
GMO's
preservatives
and
LOW glycemic index

AND they still taste FANTASTIC!!!!!!
Also made of real cocoa
sugar cane
real peanuts (and more of them!!)
real caramel!!
disclaimer:  I did receive coupons to get these products free or reduced in exchange for my honest review.

UNREAL Candy (Mommy in PA's views)

Recently I got the chance to try out some new candy called UNREAL.  This was an opportunity from BzzAgent so I received coupons in the mail for one free one and 4 for BOGO.

I have never been one to turn down trying any kind of new chocolate.  So I was really excited to get a chance to try out this UNREAL candy.  UNREAL candy was created because a 13 year old boy went on a mission to find out what was really in candy bars and why.  Well he found out that most candy had a lot of extra stuff in them that wasn't in there for better flavor but to make the product cheaper to produce.  I found this very interesting.

The flavors I chose to try were UNREAL #54, UNREAL #8, and UNREAL #77.  UNREAL #54 is candy coated chocolates with peanuts.  These were a big hit with everyone in my house.  I especially like how the colors don't look as fake as some other brands do.  And they tasted just as good as any other ones I've tried.  UNREAL #8 is chocolate, caramel, peanut, and nougat.  This one is actually my favorite of the ones I tried.  The nougat seems really fluffy compared to some other nougats I have had.  My kids did not get a chance to try this one.  UNREAL #77 is chocolate and Peanut Butter in cup shapes.  These were tasty too but a little different taste than what I was used to, I think it was something with the chocolate.

Now that I've had a chance to try these I will be getting them again so that we are getting a lot less junk in our candy, it's amazing how easily they have made it to have healthier versions of our favorite junk food.

Disclaimer:  I received the coupons for the above products in my bzzkit from bzzagent but all opinions are my own.

Storytime Sunday...On Monday

"Grandma's Back to Basics All Natural More Than Just a Cookbook"

by Teresa Thompson

This really isn't just your regular cookbook.  The author created this book due to having a lot of allergies and trying to narrow down what things she could eat without having to worry about a terrible reaction.

This cook book basically takes you back to good healthy home cooking.  This isn't just for folks with allergies but also for anyone looking for simpler recipes like our grandparent's used to eat and avoiding eating a lot of processed foods.

The book is well organized by categories.  There is sections on appetizers, beverages, breads, breakfast, desserts, sandwiches/soups, sauces/dressings/marinate sauces, vegetables, and main dishes.

I also like how the author puts neat little tips and tricks with some of the recipes.  This is very helpful information.

I can't wait to try a lot of these recipes.  Nothing looks too complicated like some of the other cookbooks I own.

Something I noticed right away when looking through the recipes was that instead of just putting "water" the author suggests you use "filtered water", this is something I never would have even thought about before.  This really makes me wonder what other simple things could be done for others with allergies to avoid some of their reactions.

If you have any friends or family members who have allergies this would make a really great gift idea.

You can purchase your own copy of this book by going here.

Disclaimer:  I received the above book from Dorrance Publishing CO. Inc. in exchange for my review.  But all  opinions remain my own.

Maybe Monday (TheraPearl Pals)

TheraPearl Pals

Mommy in GA and mommy in PA are really excited about this great product.  TheraPearl Pals are cute little hot/cold packs that you can use to make your kiddos Boo Boo's all better.  So instead of grabbing that bag of peas or having your kids give you that strange look when you wrap up an ice cube in a towel now you can just get out a TheraPearl Pal.

TheraPearl Pals work great for fevers, scrapes, burns, bee stings, swelling, and bruises (and even bruised egos).

TheraPearl Pals come in 4 designs.  There is Buddy the Dog, Pearl the Pig, Ribbit the Frog, and Ping the Panda.  Kids can't resist their cuteness!

TheraPearl Pals can either be frozen (at least two hours in the freezer) or heated (just microwave for 15 seconds then if not hot enough microwave at 5 second intervals until warm enough).  After freezing or cooling use on the affected area for no more than 20 minutes.

Here's what mommy in GA thought of her TheraPearl Pals: We were super excited to get these in the mail.  My kids' got home from school and I pulled the TheraPals out of the boxes and from then on every bump and tiny scratch needed the TheraPal!!!

Sadly due to my 3 year olds' curiosity we are now down to one TheraPal :(

The cold version of the TheraPal is GREAT for all those little bumps and bruises and the cuteness eases the pain from a frown to a smile in no time!!!

Here's what mommy in PA thought of her TheraPearl Pals:  My kids fell in love with these the moment we opened the package.  My seven year old instantly thought of the kids at school and how much they would like them so I sent our "Buddy the Dog" in for the school nurse.  She was very happy to receive it and said that it would help make a lot of kids Boo Boo's better.

We've used them as the cold packs a lot.  When little kids are over and they happen to bump their heads or fall down the TheraPearl Pals always do the trick.  They typically don't even hold it on for more than a couple of minutes and they are happy and playing again.

I love that these are also hot packs because these will come in handy for the occasional ear ache or tooth ache.  No need to get out the heating pad.  And amazingly the TheraPearl Pal holds heat very well.  I microwaved mine just for the 15 seconds and it was still warm after 30 minutes.

These normally sell for $5.99 and can be used over and over again.  To order your own or learn more about them or TheraPearl's other products you can check out their site, follow them on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter.

Maybe Monday (My Hikes)

My Hikes

So if your kids grow like our kids do then you probably run into the same problem we have run into time and time again.  The waist of the pants fit but they are still a little too long.  Well My Hikes has come up with a great solution to our dilemma.  Just roll, slide, check for centering, and snap.  In four easy steps the problem is solved.

They come in a variety of designs to choose from for girls and boys.  And the artwork is actually 3-dimensional.

Here's what we thought of My Hikes.

Mommy in GA says: The My Hikes are really cool because we all know pants are not custom made lol!!!  My 7 year old is a little on the short side (she gets it honest from her mama!!!)  so sometimes her pant legs are way to long.

I tried these out on her one morning for school and I thought about it after she left and wondered if they might fall off during the day??!!  So the true test was one they both came home AND they were both still in perfect condition!!

We like these because they are sturdy and hold your pant legs' where you want them!! Also they are super cute so we give the My Hikes 2 cuffs up lol!

Mommy in PA says:  I tried to get my 7 year old to pick out a pair to try but he didn't like any of the designs so I had my 14 year old pick out a pair and she picked the butterflies.  She really liked how they looked but I couldn't get her to wear them to school.  I guess there is a cut off to the age where kids are willing to wear these in front of their friends.  I think that there needs to be a bigger selection of designs (maybe some that even the older kids wouldn't mind wearing).  I like the durability of them (the plastic is nice and thick) but they are pretty noticeable as they pull down on your pant legs a bit from the weight, yes I tried them out myself.

My Hikes even has a fundraiser program for schools.  For more information you can head over here.

For more information on My Hikes you can view their site or follow them on Facebook.  Also be sure to enter below for your chance to win a surprise from My Hikes.

Wind Down Weekend (Her Interactive - Nancy Drew)

Her Interactive
Her interactive is a video game company with the mission to make games that are fun and inspiring for girls of all ages.  They are the makers of the "Nancy Drew" mystery adventure games.  Below are the two video games we received to review and our thoughts.

"Nancy Drew:  Tomb of the Lost Queen"

"Tomb of the Lost Queen" is number 26 in the lineup of Nancy Drew mystery games.  This adventure takes Nancy into Egypt to discover what is going wrong at a dig site.  People are getting injured, acting oddly, is there a curse?  It's up to you to help Nancy get to the bottom of what is going on there.

"Alibi in Ashes" is game number 25 in the Nancy Drew mystery game series.  In this one you have to help Nancy figure out who is trying to frame her for the fire at the old town hall.  Nancy is in jail so you'll have to work with other characters to get to the bottom of this case.

Mommy in PA says:  I have been a huge Nancy Drew fan since I read some of the book series when I was in elementary school.  When I noticed Her Interactive had come out with a video game series back in 1998 I knew I would be hooked.  I've played all of the following games plus the two we got to review:
"Secrets Can Kill"
"Stay Tuned for Danger"
"Message in a Haunted Mansion"
"The Final Scene"
"Secret of the Scarlet Hand"
"Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake"
"Danger on Deception Island"
and
"The White Wolf of Icicle Creek"  for the Wii

I loved both of the games we got to test.  The "Tomb of the Lost Queen" wasn't just a game, it was a history lesson in a game.  It was interesting learning all kinds of neat Egyptian facts as we explored the dig site with Nancy.
When I say we, I mean the whole family.  These games aren't just for girls.  My 14 year old daughter and I played but so did my 7 year old son and my hubby (he figured out all the puzzles that were too tricky for the rest of us).

"Alibi in Ashes" was a little different than the "Tomb of the Lost Queen" in that you had to manage more than one character because Nancy spends a good bit of time in jail and has to send her friends to collect clues and piece together the mystery.  You have a chance to be Ned, Bess, George, and Nancy.

One feature that I have always loved about the Nancy Drew games is the ability to select your level of difficulty.  And also the fact that if you do happen to make a "wrong turn" you don't have to start all over, they give you the option to try again.

It is also great in that they allow you to choose what set of text you want your character to say.  What questions you ask and what you tell other characters will sometimes change how the story goes.

Another great thing about the Nancy Drew games is that if you get stuck you can get hints, and if the hints don't help you can go onto their site for more help from others who are playing the same game (in the message boards).

Well now that we've told you what we think about Her Interactive you can go play some of the mini games here and try them out for yourself.  You can also read more about Her Interactive on their site or follow them on Facebook or Twitter.  Also be sure to check out their videos on YouTube to get a look at the real quality of these games.

Her Interactive was kind enough to send us an extra copy of "Nancy Drew:  Tomb of the Lost Queen" for one of our lucky readers.  Be sure to enter via the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win!

Funky Friday (Power Capes)

Power Capes

Who says that Superheros don't exist?  Power Capes makes customizable superhero capes for kids (and adults) of all ages/sizes.   Mommy in PA's son recently got to choose and customize his very own Custom Superhero Cape from Power Capes.  And here is what we thought...

The process of choosing what to put on his cape was very fun.  It took us quite awhile to get it just right but he decided to do a black cape with a lightning bolt and a big glittery black "S".  He said he wanted to make it for when he is watching his favorite football team.

We were very excited when it arrived in the mail.  I couldn't get over the awesome quality.  This is going to be around for a long time (unlike the ones you buy at stores around Halloween time).  Another nice feature is that this one has a Velcro closure versus the typical tie ones that the stores used to carry, you were only looking for trouble tying things around a kid's neck.  The velcro holds well too. My son and I also like how silky the fabric is that they used to make the capes.

My son has enjoyed his cape and so have the other kiddos that have visited and seen it, everyone wants to try it on.  So if you are looking for a great gift idea for the little superhero in your life you really need to check out Power Capes.

For a chance to win your very own Power Cape enter via the Rafflecopter form below.  If following on Facebook or Twitter be sure to let them know that Money Saving Mommies X 2 sent ya!

Tasty Tuesday (Buddy Fruits)

Buddy Fruits

Mommy in GA and mommy in PA were given the opportunity to try Buddy Fruits with our kiddos.  Buddy Fruits makes a full line of healthy fruit products that are all fruit and no added sugar.

Buddy Fruits was created when a chef from France realized that he wasn't able to find his son any fruit pouches here in America.  They are very popular in France so he decided to bring the concept here.  And now they are available in stores nationwide.

Here is what our families thought of the Buddy Fruits...

Mommy in GA says:
We got our Buddy Fruits in the mail and I just barely got the photo above before the kids' tore into the box!!!
The pictures' below show you how much they enjoyed the products lol!!
Here is my 3 year old drinking the banana which is fitting because he acts like a little monkey climbing on stuff!!
He really enjoyed the banana....I thought he might cause bananas are his favorite fruit, although he prefers to call them nanas.
Here is my 6 year old, she wanted to try the Peach Smoothie which in her words was delicious and tastes just like peaches!!

Here is my 9 year old tasting the banana apple and she kinda liked it but, it wasn't her favorite.

Mommy in PA says:  My 7 year old really liked the strawberry fruit pouch but he didn't care for the seeds.  My 14 year old didn't care at all for any of the pouches, she's not much of a fruit eater.  My 7 year old really liked the Raspberry fruit bites and said that the Pomegranate & Acai were ok, and the apple could have been a little stronger tasting.  My 14 year old didn't like the fruit bites at all.

To find out more about Buddy Fruits and see where you can buy them you can head over to their site.
