Funky Friday - Lego Wii Games

Lego Wii Games

disclaimer:  I received nothing in exchange for this post.  These are all products purchased by my household and I just wanted to share my opinion of these games.

Are you looking for a fun, family-friendly game that keeps the adults and the kids in the household equally entertained?  Well I (mommy in PA) have been playing these great Lego Wii games with my son for years.

The Lego Wii games are each based on a certain movie, if you've already seen the movie the games will be a bit easier to complete because you will already have a rough idea of what you are doing.  The ones we have are Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga, Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars, Lego Indiana Jones The Original Adventures, Lego Indiana Jones 2 The Adventure Continues, Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4, Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean The Video Game, and Lego The Lord of The Rings.

These are perfect for kids who get frustrated with your typical hero games that give you so many lives and then you have to start over.  The only time you have to start over in these games is if you want to or if your kid accidentally deletes your entire 100% completed game (this has happened to us before).  There is even the ability to "drop out" if something comes up that one of you has to stop playing for a minute, the other player can easily continue without you and the computer will play your character until you return.  This function also comes in handy for the tougher parts in the game when one of you can't seem to get past a certain part you can have that player "drop out" and let the computer get past the tricky part.

These games are also great for kids because they don't have your typical video game style violence.  When your character attacks another character in these games the character simply falls apart into individual Lego pieces and studs (the game currency) falls on the ground for you to collect.  This also happens when your player gets attacked but your player comes back after just a couple of seconds.

My son and I both love smashing all the Lego objects that we can in every level.  We are always trying to get as many studs as we can because if you get enough studs in a level you get a bonus.  Also there are certain things in each level that will earn you bonus abilities (example:  Find and smash all 10 bright green cacti in the level and receive a bonus ability).

These games are well worth the price too as they allow for hours and hours of game play.  Once you make it completely through a level you can always return to it to complete it using different characters that you will unlock on other levels.  There are certain skills each type of character can perform (example: girl characters tend to be great jumpers).  It is always fun going back through a level with a new skill to get all the stuff you missed the first time around.

Last but not least are the cute little cartoon movie clips that show up when you complete a level.  It has the Lego people acting out certain scenes of the movie and they are always quite comical.

These really are great games and we are always anxiously awaiting the next title to be released!
